I owned a Van Moof S3 before. What I like about the Cowboy is the removable battery and the belt instead of the chain. The general quality of the bike seems to be better. The brakes work wonderfully and don't drag or squeak. The disadvantage for me is clearly the lighting: Nicely designed but dark paths are very poorly lit and oncoming people often see you late.
